Dr. Brown received his dental degree from the Catholic University Nijmegen Radboud Dental/Medical College in The Netherlands, in 1988. After practicing as a general dentist on the Dutch Island of Curacao and in the Netherlands for several years; he went on to attend University of Maryland Dental School from which he graduated with his degree in Pediatric Dentistry in July of 1995. He has been actively practicing Dentistry for 30 years.
Dr Brown is an active member of the Dutch Dental Society (Nederlandse Maatschappij ter bevordering der Tandheelkunde), and The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He has also served as vice president and treasurer of the Curacao Dental Society.
Dr Brown has a special interest in the growth and development of children and adolescents. He is passionate about early orthodontic treatment and anterior esthetic treatments (anterior composite crowns). He has completed more than 15 years of additional, specialized training in pediatric dentistry. He continues to obtain numerous hours per year of continuing education in the field of pediatric dentistry and early orthodontics all over the US and Europe.
Dr Brown recognizes that each and every child has specific dental needs that are unique. These needs can include behaviour management techniques, orthodontics(braces), stainless steel crowns, anterior composite crowns, nitrous oxide sedation, or even general anesthesia in a hospital setting.
Dr Brown has more than twenty years of surgical experience treating children in the operating room under general anesthesia together with anesthesiologists. Rest assured your child is in good hands.
Some of his hobbies include playing steel drums and reading.
